How to get to Siliguri from Kolkata (Calcutta):
By train: Siliguri is on Metre Gauge line. New Jalpaiguri (NJP or N.J.P.) is the junction station for Broad Gauge lines 5 km from Siliguri railway station.
Darjeeling Mail departs daily from Sealdah Station at 19:15 and arrives at New Jalpaiguri (600 km) at 08:45 the next morning. Also the Teesta Torsa Mail departs daily from Sealdah Station at 13:40 and arrives at New Jalpaiguri at 04:35 the next morning.
By bus:Regular bus services run between Kolkata and Siliguri (606 km) from the long distance bus depot in Chowringhee. Siliguri-Kolkata (Calcutta) Rocket service leaves Kolkata (Calcutta) at 6,7, 8 pm daily. The return buses from Siliguri to Kolkata run every evening during 6:00 through 8:30 p.m.
